National Police agents in Arrecife have arrested C.F.M.G., 47 years old, with numerous police records for crimes against property, after attempting to steal a motorcycle. The robbery, however, did not occur, since a woman who observed the events confronted him and managed to prevent it.
The events were triggered after several people called the 091 telephone number who were able to observe how an individual was trying to steal a motorcycle parked on the public road. A woman approached him and reproached him for his attitude, the Police explain. Then a struggle began between them that lasted several minutes. Finally, the man threw the motorcycle to the ground and fled the scene.
The police officers who went there interviewed the witnesses, who provided them with the physical characteristics of the perpetrator. Thanks to their descriptions, the Police were able to locate him in the vicinity and carried out his arrest.
The woman who managed to thwart the robbery needed to be treated for minor injuries at a nearby health center. The owner of the motorcycle went to the scene and assessed the damage at 200 euros. Once the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by agents assigned to the Arrecife Police Station.
