Canal Gestión, the company in charge of water management on the island, reported on Tuesday morning of several supply cuts in Lanzarote.
The company attributes these cuts to "a shutdown suffered by the Lanzarote IV desalination plant due to an electrical failure" and that it has a "direct" impact on the levels of supply tanks.
For this reason, the supply to almost the entire northern zone has been suspended. In addition to Costa Teguise, La Villa, La Santa, Tinguatón, Puerto del Carmen, as well as the area between Yaiza and Playa Blanca.
Along with them, there are restrictions on the supply of drinking water for agricultural purposes in different parts of Haría, San Bartolomé, Teguise and Tinajo.
In addition, Canal Gestión assures that the reactivation of the supply is scheduled for the next few hours, in case no new incidents arise.
