Agents of the National Police Corps attached to the Superior Headquarters of Police of the Canary Islands, have proceeded, in recent dates, to the arrest of four people as alleged perpetrators of numerous crimes of robbery inside vehicles carried out in a garage on Galicia Street in this capital.

Since last October, there has been an increase in robberies and thefts from inside cars in the aforementioned garage, always with the same procedures, that is, waiting for the entry or exit of vehicles without taking the precaution of waiting for the door to close.

A police statement explains that agents attached to the Judicial Police Area of the Northern District Police Station, given this increase, organized a police operation aimed at locating the perpetrators, as a result of which the arrest was achieved in the early hours of the morning of four individuals who were caught "in flagrante delicto" while dismantling six vehicles in the garages of the aforementioned street.

Transferred to the police facilities, they were identified as Santiago P. P., 39 years old, from Las Palmas with nine previous records for various crimes, Nicolás D. D., 36, from Barcelona, with eight previous records and a Requisition from a Court of Gavá, Jesús L. B., 51, from Granada, with nine previous records for property crimes and a Search and Arrest warrant in force, and Alexey G. T., 34 years old, from Cuba, also with various previous records.

The four have been charged with forcing and stealing effects from inside another eight vehicles in the same garages, carried out during the aforementioned month of October and which had caused the corresponding alarm.

Together with the instructed proceedings, they were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which ordered the imprisonment of the four defendants.
