Firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium had to rescue an elderly person with dyspnea from inside the Cueva de los Verdes this Wednesday.
After being alerted by the Cecoes at around 3:30 p.m., the firefighters went to the Cueva de los Verdes, verifying upon arrival that the affected person had been assessed by a doctor who was visiting the Cave and attended to by Red Cross paramedics, with the Local Police also at the scene.
A guide from the Cueva de los Verdes received the firefighters and informed them of what had happened, as well as the approximate weight and size of the affected person and the distance to the exit. After that, the firefighters went inside and, coordinated with the doctor and the health services, chose to help the person walk out of the cave.
However, as it was difficult for her to walk, she was evacuated on a stretcher and with medicinal oxygen. Once outside, she was taken to the ambulance to be transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
