The Security and Emergency Consortium has carried out different actions in the removal of furniture in Lanzarote due to the strong wind. The island has recorded this Thursday gusts of more than 70 kilometers per hour and, specifically, at the Airport it reached 82 km/h, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
The firefighters went to the fishermen's association of Playa Blanca due to the detachment of part of the roof of the building. With the help of a turntable ladder, they removed two pieces of metal sheets that had broken due to the wind.
On the other hand, they also moved to Playa Blanca, on La Lapa street, to remove the luminaire from a lamppost that had come off due to the wind.
They also acted on Seguidilla street, in Argana Alta, where a lamppost was hanging from a cable with danger of falling. The Local Police closed the street to traffic so that the firefighters could work with the turntable ladder. It was a lamppost attached to a wall at the height of a first floor and they proceeded to screw it better to the wall so that it was secured.
Likewise, they moved to the Carretera de Los Mármoles due to the fall of several branches on the public road. They proceeded to prune them and remove others that were at risk of falling.
