Emerlan rescued a sailboat this Friday morning that was adrift and had sent out a distress signal off the north coast of the island.
According to reports from the NGO, they were activated by Cecoes and Salvamento to locate a sailboat of about 12 meters, which had been surprised by the storm while sailing about 5 miles north of Alegranza and was incommunicado and adrift with inoperative sails and no engine.
The Emerlan boat finds it about 12 miles east of Costa Teguise. There were five crew members on board, two women and three men, who were in good condition.
They have subsequently been towed to Marina Lanzarote.
