A Binter plane that was making a flight from Turin to Gran Canaria had to make an emergency landing this Tuesday at the Lanzarote airport, after smoke was detected in the aircraft's hold.

"Due to proximity and as a precaution, they decided to land here," explain from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, which was activated in case its intervention was necessary.

Finally, the intervention of the firefighters has not been required and the flight has landed without further incidents, with Binter and airport personnel taking care of controlling the situation.

As explained by the company, "once the plane has landed normally, the mandatory checks have been carried out and it has been verified that said warning turned out to be a false alarm caused by a failure in the fire detector."

The security systems and procedures have been activated as planned, without the safety of passengers and crew being affected by this incident at any time.

Finally, Binter reports that they are assisting passengers and organizing operations so that they can reach their final destination as soon as possible.
