The driver of the car that overturned on Avenida Mamerto Cabrera in Playa Honda in the early hours of Wednesday had been reported for misappropriating the vehicle with which he had the accident. Therefore, the man, who responds to the initials A.P.O and is about 30 years old, has been investigated by the Civil Guard. In addition, the Benemérita has also processed a complaint against the injured party, since he also tested positive for alcohol.
After the accident, in which the driver was moderately injured, the agents of the Arrecife Traffic Detachment were able to verify that the owner of the vehicle was a woman, so they decided to contact her, who stated that days before she had reported this man for misappropriation.
Specifically, the complaint had been filed on February 2 at the Civil Guard barracks in Yaiza, after the woman lent the car to the young man and he did not want to return it. Thus, parallel to the processing of the proceedings for a traffic accident, the Civil Guard proceeded to investigate this man for a crime of misappropriation and, as such, went to the Hospital a day after the accident to read him his rights.
