A driver alerted the firefighters of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium that he had detected a gas leak in the bottles he was carrying while driving on the LZ-20, near the Arrecife exit towards San Bartolomé.

The initial alert warned the Emergency and Security Coordination Center that it was carrying four bottles that were losing gas.

Upon the firefighters' arrival at the scene, they counted only three five-liter bottles. The driver had refilled the bottles at a nearby gas station, and the Consortium firefighters were able to detect "a small leak" in one of them.

During the intervention, the affected party warned that he had left another bottle at another location. They proceeded to search for it, but were unable to locate it. After that, they arranged to meet the driver again at the gas station where he had refilled the bottles to hand over the three he had, but he did not show up at the location
