A 38-year-old man died yesterday, around 09:05 in the morning, in a traffic accident on the LZ-3, on the Arrecife ring road, according to the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes 1-1-2).
The accident was the result of a head-on collision between a van and a car. The staff of the Canary Emergency Service went to the scene of the incident, unable to do anything for the driver of the van, who died at the scene due to the injuries sustained.
The driver of the car, 30 years old, was treated and transferred to the General Hospital of Lanzarote, with minor chest trauma.
The firefighters had to extract the body of the deceased from inside the van and the Civil Guard Traffic Department prepared the corresponding report, controlling the traffic, which was somewhat dense for a few minutes as a result of the fatal accident.
