Firefighters extinguished two container fires in Lanzarote on Sunday night. Both occurred in the early hours of the morning in Arrecife, according to the Emergency Consortium.
The first was on Cribo Street in Arrecife at about 0.45 hours, when CECOES alerted firefighters to a container fire. Upon arriving at the scene, they found that it was a container of organic waste that was burning in its entirety, which was ultimately unusable, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium. To extinguish the flames, emergency personnel used 1,000 liters of water.
In addition, the National and Local Police also moved to the area.
The second occurred on the Arrecife to San Bartolomé Road at about 3.36 hours. Alerted by a witness to the fire, which occurred between the pharmacy and the funeral home, the troops approached the place to extinguish the fire. The fire affected a container of organic waste that was burning in its entirety, in addition, the flames damaged the exterior of another for recycling cardboard, finally leaving both unusable. For its extinction the firefighters used 500 liters of water.
In addition, the Local Police also went to the area and assisted the service.
