A 34-year-old Colombian woman has been arrested at the Fuerteventura airport when she was trying to introduce about a kilo and a half of cocaine to the island, in a package she was carrying hidden in the thigh of her left leg, according to a statement from the Civil Guard.
The arrest occurred during a routine check by Civil Guard officers, belonging to the Airport Fiscal Unit, of people who disembarked from a commercial flight coming from the Peninsula, at the Community arrivals terminal during the past weekend.
The agents discovered that the woman was carrying a rectangular package hidden in the thigh of her left leg, attached with adhesive tape, and inside they found cocaine, 1,347 grams and with a high degree of purity.
The detainee was brought to the judicial authority in the Court of Instruction Number One of Puerto del Rosario, whose owner decreed her admission to the Tahíche prison, in Lanzarote.
