A 49-year-old woman was injured this Sunday after suffering a fall in a difficult-to-access area in Playa Quemada, in the municipality of Yaiza. She was rescued by firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium and by the Local Police and later transferred to the hospital in a 'less serious' condition.

The Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies received an alert that a person needed assistance around 8:20 p.m. and alerted the firefighters. They, in collaboration with the Yaiza Local Police, were in charge of helping her. When they arrived where she was, they were able to verify that it was a "slippery area" near the sea, they explained from the Consortium.

Firefighters and police immobilized her on the rescue stretcher and then transferred her to an accessible place, where the ambulance of the Canary Emergency Service was waiting. In a first assistance, she was diagnosed with a less serious leg injury. The paramedics then transferred her to the Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife.
