A foreign woman, around 50 years old, had to be rescued at noon this Tuesday, after suffering a broken ankle while hiking on a difficult access route in Montaña Roja, in the municipality of Yaiza.
Given the impossibility of carrying out the rescue on foot due to the rugged terrain, Civil Protection, the Yaiza Local Police and the Red Cross, who intervened in the operation, chose to alert the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group, which evacuated the woman and transferred her to the José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife, where she is being treated for her injuries.
