A 71-year-old woman drowned this Wednesday in the pool of an apartment complex in the town of Playa Blanca. The event took place shortly before 3:00 p.m., when a notice was received at the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The call warned that they had pulled an unconscious bather from a pool, with symptoms of drowning. Initially, the lifeguard present at the scene performed resuscitation maneuvers, after confirming that she was in cardiac arrest, but they did not give results.
