A 77-year-old man of Swedish nationality has been transferred by ambulance to Molina Orosa after suffering a serious near-drowning. The incident took place around 5:00 p.m. in Playa Blanca. At that time, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that a man had been pulled unconscious from a beach.
A medicalized ambulance and the doctor from the local health center have been dispatched to the scene and have provided first aid. Apparently, the swimmer presented symptoms of drowning, so he has been stabilized by the medical personnel before proceeding to his transfer to the Hospital, where he has been admitted in serious condition.
Both the Local Police and the Civil Guard have collaborated with the health resources and are carrying out the corresponding procedures.
