A 50-year-old man died this Thursday on Famara Beach, after being rescued from the sea in cardiorespiratory arrest.
At approximately 3:35 p.m., the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 received an alert, reporting that they had pulled the man out of the water and were performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers on him. A medicalized ambulance and another basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), Local Police, Civil Guard and beach service personnel were dispatched to the area.
Upon arrival at the scene, SUC health personnel continued with basic resuscitation maneuvers and initiated advanced maneuvers, without success, confirming the death of the affected person.
The beach service personnel and the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services, while the Civil Guard took charge of the body until the arrival of the Judicial Authority.
