The Civil Guard arrested three people, two women and one man, on June 16 for an alleged crime of robbery with force, after entering a premises in Puerto del Carmen and stealing 50,000 euros. The detainees are between 19 and 46 years old and, according to the agents, were watching the area to perpetrate crimes.

The investigation, dubbed Operation SunBeach, began on May 22, following a complaint filed by the victim. According to the Civil Guard, the perpetrators tried to evade video surveillance systems by covering their faces and wearing gloves to avoid leaving any traces. Once inside, they opened a safe with a radial saw, stealing the cash inside, which corresponded to the money collected over several days.

The Judicial Police Team of Tías carried out different procedures, such as the "detailed viewing of existing cameras where the crimes are perpetrated" and surveillance of the area, until they managed to identify the alleged perpetrators.

During the arrest, a device was set up with several units from the Island, proceeding to enter the home and subsequently search the house where they were staying. "The alleged perpetrators evaded localization by constantly changing their address to avoid detection or hinder the investigation, although due to the constant and abundant amount of money they handled, they generated suspicions in the usual environment, which allowed the surveillance device established for this purpose to narrow the circle around them, eventually determining the participation of the other two women, who carried out surveillance, logistical support and subsequent coverage," the Civil Guard said.

After the first intervention, the head of the Investigating Court Number 3 of Arrecife authorized the entry and search of two other homes, where various effects related to the robbery were found, leaving the detainees at the disposal of the court.
