A lifeguard rescues two people in distress at sea on Los Pocillos beach

The two bathers have been transferred to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital

A lifeguard has rescued two men, 47 and 22 years old, who were in distress at sea on Los Pocillos beach. The events took place around 6.12 pm when CECOES received an alert informing that two bathers were having problems in the water.

Two ambulances, one basic life support and one medicalised, a doctor and a nurse from the Tías health centre, Local Police, Guardia Civil and Civil Protection have been moved to the scene.

The first to reach them was the lifeguard who kept them afloat and rescued them. Subsequently, the health personnel assessed them, the 47-year-old man presented symptoms of moderate near-drowning. Once stabilised, they were transferred by ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

Civil Protection has collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources.

The Police Forces activated by the Coordinating Centre have intervened in the deployed device and have prepared the appropriate reports.
