A plane had to be diverted this Friday to Lanzarote due to bad weather in Madeira (Portugal), according to air traffic controllers on the @controladores air traffic controllers account on X (formerly Twitter).
It is a Jet 2 company plane from London that was scheduled to land in Madeira, but finally did so at the César Manrique airport "due to adverse weather at the destination."
This Friday, the Hipólito storm affected the Azores archipelago, which suffered winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour and waves of up to 7 meters high.
