A fisherman died this Tuesday while practicing underwater fishing in Puerto del Carmen. The young man of Moroccan nationality was fishing in the Playa Chica area when he was found by a group of divers who were in the area.
According to some witnesses to La Voz, the deceased would have jumped into the sea through the breakwater of the dock, the place where his bag was found. After finding the body, it was transferred around 12.15 hours to the dock of Tiñosa in the tourist town.
Upon arrival on land, Emerlan staff began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. After that, the health personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service arrived, who confirmed that the affected person remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued with the resuscitation.
Once alerted by the CECOES, agents of the Local Police, two ambulances, one basic life support and another medicalized from the Canary Emergency Service, were dispatched.
In addition, the Police Forces activated by the Coordinating Center collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources and carried out the corresponding procedures.
