A large-scale fire in an industrial building in the Tenorio neighborhood has caused a large cloud of smoke over Arrecife and has forced the firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium to "ask for reinforcements", according to what its manager, Enrique Espinosa, has confirmed to La Voz. "The fire has affected 9 cars and a large amount of garbage that was inside and 15,000 liters of water had to be used to put it out," adds Espinosa.
The fire broke out at approximately 2:20 p.m. in the old Recuperadora Lanzarote warehouse, now belonging to the company Autodesguaces Lito, and according to witnesses, it would have occurred when a spark jumped from a welder.
The firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium have moved to the place after receiving a fire alert and have had to break the door of the warehouse to be able to access its interior and proceed to its extinction.
