The laundry room of a hotel in Playa Blanca suffered a fire this Wednesday night, which flooded the entire room with smoke. The fire occurred around 11.50 pm, minutes before Yaiza Civil Protection received the alert.
Specifically, the fire occurred in the laundry room of the Iberostar Papagayo hotel, near the Las Coloradas sector of the tourist town of Playa Blanca. The Yaiza Civil Protection Fire Unit traveled to the scene and helped cool and ventilate the basement area of the hotel, which was flooded with smoke, according to a statement from the Yaiza City Council.
"The quick action of the hotel staff, trained in security, and the fire protection system of the accommodation establishment prevented the flames from spreading", said the Yaiza City Council, which has announced that the causes of the fire will be "subject to investigation".
