Firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium have rescued a 72-year-old woman who twisted her ankle in a difficult-to-access area of the Corona Volcano. The woman, from Catalonia, was hiking when she had this mishap.
The 112 received an alert around 2:00 p.m., since the woman could not walk and, therefore, leave this area. The 112 has notified the firefighters to carry out her rescue.
Several emergency agents have arrived at the area where the injured woman was and have evacuated her on a stretcher to the place where the ambulance of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) was waiting. The paramedics have assessed the woman, who presented a minor injury to her ankle, and have transferred her to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
