A woman died this Wednesday at Playa Flamingo, in Yaiza. Apparently, the victim, 70 years old, was swimming on this beach when she began to sink. This foreign woman died of drowning and the emergency services could only confirm her death.
The tragic event occurred this Wednesday at 2:05 p.m. A call alerted the Emergency Coordination Center that a woman was showing symptoms of drowning. Personnel from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) went there and tried to perform resuscitation maneuvers on the woman.
Previously, lifeguards from a nearby hotel had already unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate the woman. The doctor from the Playa Blanca Health Center also went to Playa Flamingo to try to save the woman, but unfortunately, all he could do was confirm her death.
