A 64-year-old man died on Tuesday afternoon in the pool of an apartment complex located on Calle Chalana, in the municipality of Tías.

According to reports from the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2, at 6:32 p.m. they received a call reporting that a man had been pulled from the water with symptoms of drowning in the apartment complex pool.

Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources, including a basic life support ambulance and an advanced life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), as well as Civil Guard officers.

A person who identified himself as a doctor, upon verifying that the affected individual was in cardiorespiratory arrest, performed basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
