The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2, under the Department of Territorial Policy, Sustainability and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, managed the assistance of 28,642 people on the island of Lanzarote in 2015, who were involved in some of the 28,804 incidents recorded.
This figure means that Lanzarote concentrates 5.9% of the total number of citizens of the Archipelago for whom 1-1-2 Canarias managed the necessary assistance. In this sense, the island of Lanzarote ranks third in terms of the general activity recorded by 1-1-2 Canarias by territories, preceded by Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
Regarding the typology of incidents located on the island, those of a health nature amounted to 12,869, that is, 45% with respect to the total volume, while those related to security totaled 9,390, with 32.5%. In third place are accidents of various types, such as work or traffic accidents, for example, which total 3,302 and, next, incidents that referred to technical assistance, fire extinguishing and maritime rescue that brought together 3,243.
1-1-2 Canarias registered a total of 490,160 incidents throughout the Archipelago last year in which 483,047 people were attended to. Of the total requests for assistance attended by 1-1-2 Canarias, 47.7% were resolved from the Coordinating Center itself without the need to mobilize security and emergency resources, that is, these were cases related to requests for information and teleguided consultations. These last ones take place when the sectorial technician -doctors, security forces, firefighters, technicians for attention to women or the multisectoral coordinator himself- present in the Coordinating Center resolves the citizen's request for help without requiring the activation of a security and emergency service.
