The Cabildo of Lanzarote opened this Friday morning the sale of tickets for the concert that Valeria Castro will offer at the Víctor Fernández Gopar “El Salinero” Theater next Thursday, October 2 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets, priced at 30 euros, could be purchased on the culture website and in the Cultura Lanzarote mobile application, but they sold out within minutes of going on sale.
The Culture Councilor of the Cabildo, Jesús Machín Tavío, emphasizes the value of this event, as “having Valeria Castro's voice in Lanzarote is a recognition of the strength of Canarian musical creation and the ability of our artists to excite and project the identity of the islands to the world. Her presence in El Salinero represents the link between tradition and modernity that defines the culture of the Canary Islands.”
An artist with international projection
Valeria Castro will present her second album, El cuerpo después de todo, in Lanzarote, as part of an international tour that has already taken her and will take her to cities such as Lisbon, Copenhagen, Dublin, London, Amsterdam or Paris. With delicate and emotional music, the artist from La Palma has established herself as one of the most personal singer-songwriters on the current scene.
Among her most recent recognitions, Castro was nominated in 2023 for the Latin Grammy Awards in the category of Best Singer-Songwriter Song for La raíz, a piece composed after the volcanic eruption of La Palma in 2021. In addition, she won the award for Best Song of the Year at the 2023 Canarian Music Awards and in 2024 she was nominated for the Goya Awards together with the group Vetusta Morla for El amor de Andrea.
With songs as well-known as Cuídate, La raíz or Sentimentalmente, Valeria Castro's performance in Lanzarote promises to be one of the great musical events of the year on the island.
