The White Night returned to the streets of Teguise after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

There was desire and this was demonstrated by the "more than 15,000 people", according to the Security Councilor Eugenio Robayna, who came to La Villa to enjoy the extensive program of activities that had been planned for the occasion.

"Restaurants, shops and the six stages with the different performances were full of families, friends who wanted to go up to La Villa, it was a success", this is how Eiugenio Robayna told La Voz how the night went. "And most importantly, without incidents, everything worked very well including the bus service enabled for it", adds Robayna

The mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, showed himself on his social networks “happy and grateful for the great atmosphere we experienced yesterday in La Villa, where some people discovered for the first time the magic of the White Night and the Historic Site, and others returned with more desire after two years of hiatus”, he said, congratulating “all those involved for this new success achieved thanks to the teamwork and the exquisite coordination of the Teguise City Council -of the Culture and Festivities department and the rest of the municipal areas- as well as all the dynamizers who participated with their musical, artistic, recreational and sports proposals, together with the merchants and restaurateurs who filled their establishments to the brim, security and emergency services, public transport, especially the taxi drivers of Teguise, the Local Police of Teguise, the Civil Guard of Lanzarote, cleaning operators and a long etcetera of people who have made the tenth White Night of Teguise incredible”.

Betancort also dedicated a few words to the residents of La Villa, “for honoring thousands of people with the solidarity and hospitality that characterizes them”. “We have tried to ensure that the town woke up today in perfect condition and for this purpose the cleaning service was activated from 5 in the morning”, said the mayor, inviting us to continue enjoying the weekend in Teguise, with a unique show such as the Motocross Freestyle Zombies and a new Sunday Market day.

“In short, it has been very satisfying to see the result of so much common effort, and although the numbers and images speak for themselves, the most comforting thing is to see how the essence of a dynamizing event was recovered at all levels, which shows that there is no better public investment than promoting and boosting the economy through enriching initiatives at all levels”, added Betancort.

From the first hour they are already cleaning the town to host another of the great events of this summer, the “Freestyle Zombies Canarias Tour 2022”
