After its start last Friday, August 11, the San Ginés festivities in Arrecife will conclude this coming Saturday, August 26, with its 'Fiesta de la Chola'. Unlike other occasions, the patron saint festivities will not end this Friday, August 25, with the traditional Fireworks Display, as usual. Due to the heat wave alert and the suspension of outdoor activities, the event had to be canceled on August 12 and has been scheduled for this weekend.
The party will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a parade from the Casa del Miedo that will go through Calle Real and Avenida La Marina to conclude in the Parque Islas Canarias, where Zumba Live Music, DJ Elvis, Rikabanda, Tributo Manny Manuel, Aseres, Tributo Juan Luis Guerra, Zapato Veloz and Batucada Menuda Caña will perform from 12:00 p.m., the City Council reports.
In addition, the event will feature a foam cannon and water mats, as well as a hat contest with prizes of 200, 250 and 300 euros per category.
