The LZ-408 Nazaret-Vuelta Ajai road, which connects the town of Nazaret with the Agrotechnological Center and is the main access road to Caleta de Famara, "will open in the next few days" after complying with the request of the Teguise City Council and the residents of the municipality, who decided to include in the initial project the roundabout and the expansion of sidewalks in urban areas. In addition, they also decided to improve mobility and access to the town of Nazaret and, therefore, to the Villa de Teguise and Caleta de Famara and Soo, and include underground bridges to redirect rainwater.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and the councilor Olivia Duque, together with the head of the Roads and Works area, Eugenio Robayna, visited the road while the road marking painting was being outlined by Señalcon, where they were able to verify how an work that was contracted in 2021 to Lanzagrava and Hermanos Tavío Santana for an amount of 3.5 million euros, co-financed by the first Island Corporation and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), thanks to the commitment of the Cabildo de Lanzarote in the previous term, is being finalized.

“It has been a long but necessary intervention to improve this road and guarantee safety while driving, widening the road and raising it between 50-150 centimeters to facilitate rainwater drainage and also building a roundabout at the height of the Nazaret Sociocultural Center that connects with the road and improving the distribution of parking spaces and horizontal and vertical signage”, said Betancort, giving “thanks to the neighborhood contributions that have made it possible for this to be the result of a project agreed upon with the affected population and the Cabildo technicians”.

Oswaldo Betancort recalled that, “despite improving road safety and modernizing the road network of the island of Lanzarote, we must take maximum precaution behind the wheel to avoid misfortunes”, and announced that “this same week, Teguise will tender a resurfacing project worth 3 million euros, which will affect the towns of Costa Teguise, the Villa, Guatiza, Tahíche and Nazaret, in addition to the signage project that will start at the beginning of 2023.
