The César Manrique Foundation (FCM) will host the Fetén Fetén duo concert next Friday, February 14, at 8:00 p.m., in the José Saramago room of La Plazuela (Arrecife). This activity is part of the centenary program of the artist's birth that the institution that bears his name will continue to celebrate until April 24, 2020.

Admission to the concert is free, like all the activities organized by the FCM. However, due to limited capacity, people interested in attending must previously withdraw an invitation (maximum two per person). Invitations can be collected from Tuesday 11 until they run out, at the FCM headquarters, in Taro de Tahíche, from 09:00 to 15:00.

Fetén Fetén is the unusual project of two musicians from Burgos: Diego Galaz and Jorge Arribas. With four studio albums behind them and extensive national and international tours, these vocational and passionate multi-instrumentalists extract sounds from common instruments such as the violin and accordion, from others not so common such as the mandolin or castanets and from objects as unexpected as the saw, the camping chair flute or the dustpan.

Countless regular musicians from the Spanish and international scene such as Pasión Vega, Depedro, Javier Ruibal or Fito & Fitipaldis among others, have recognized the freshness and authenticity of the Fetén Fetén proposal and have added to their projects their festive and danceable sound that, beyond the exotic, represents a contemporary look at popular music that travels and revitalizes almost disused genres such as the fox-trot, the waltz, the chotis, the seguidillas or the habaneras.

The duo has three instrumental albums, entitled 'Fetén Fetén' (2011), 'Bailables' (2014) and 'Melodías de Ultramar' (2018); in addition to 'Cantables' (2016) composed of twelve songs with lyrics by the Argentine Sebastián Schon and which were performed by Natalia Lafourcade, Fito Cabrales, Kevin Johansen, Rozalén, Melingo, Arnaldo Antunes, Julieta Venegas, Vicentico, Pedro Guerra, María Ezquiaga, Andrés Suárez and Jorge Drexler.
