The Arrecife Civic Center hosted the concert of the great master cellist Ángel Luis Quintana and the prestigious pianist Natalia Nikolaeva on Friday night. A concert that is part of the VI Arrecife Classical Concerts Cycle of the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote.
The concert began with the four movements of the Sonata for cello and piano op. 40 by Shostakovich, continued with the work of the Russian composer Tchaikovsky with the work Pezzo Capriccioso op. 62. During the interpretation of this work, pictorial images of the Russian fields were projected.

A part was also dedicated to Spanish music where the pianist and cellist performed the sonata Nello Stile Antico Spagnuolo by the Catalan composer and musician Cassadó. Before the first notes began to sound, the pianist Nikolaeva recited a poem by the Canary Islander María Joaquina Viera y Clavijo about friendship, as a reflection on the conflict in Russia.
The concert ended with verses by Federico García Lorca dedicated to the composer Manuel de Falla and performing the Spanish Suite, getting the audience to stand up while applauding.

Ángel Luis Quintana was carrying a cello that is an authentic museum piece, manufactured in 1800.
The next event and closing of the "VI Arrecife Classical Concerts Cycle" will be on March 18 with the performance of the pianist Josu Okiñena and the violinist Alex Da Costa.
