The Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture hosted the concert "Symphonics in Miniature" last Tuesday night. An initiative of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra to offer the public works written for large symphony orchestras but which, in this case, were performed by a smaller musical formation.

The "Symphonics in Miniature" proposal began in 2015 at the Pérez Galdós Theater when the orchestra, directed for 15 years by the teacher Isabel Costes, prepared a program based on adaptations of great composers such as Schöenberg, Simon, Farrington or Webern, bringing the world of great symphonies, for which large orchestral templates are needed, to those places in the Canary Islands that do not have a symphony orchestra on a regular basis.

The concert began with the work "The Swan", with Moraya Sánchez (piano) and Pablo Henríquez (cello), followed by "Meditation from the opera Thaïs by Julius Massenet, with Gonzalo Jaubert (violin) and Moraya Sánchez (piano), in third place the "Dance of the Spirits", with Texenén Déniz (flute) and Moraya Sánchez (piano), ending the concert with the "1st Symphony in C major by Beethoven" in which the four musicians participated.
The audience enjoyed a magnificent concert positively valuing this initiative framed in the XV season of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, which is celebrating 15 years of its constitution as a formation.
