The Teguise City Council, through the Archives area, presented this Sunday in the Villa de Teguise the exhibition “Leandro Perdomo Spínola. Chronicle of a life”, which brings the life and work of the writer and journalist closer to the public, coinciding with the commemoration of the centenary of his birth.
The inauguration of the new exhibition that traces the life and work of the illustrious character, born in May 1921 and Adopted Son of Teguise, will remain open in the Casa-Museo del Timple for several months, with the aim that it can also be visited by schoolchildren from Lanzarote once the next course starts.
The Councilor for Archives, Sara Bermúdez, accompanied by the official chronicler, Francisco Hernández, and the curator of the exhibition, Félix Delgado, thanked “the presence and support of the author's relatives, to whom "a well-deserved tribute is paid again with the purpose of disseminating his work among those who visit Teguise”. She also thanked “the collaboration of the César Manrique Foundation in each act that rescues the importance of his legacy for our municipality and for Lanzarote”.

Leandro Perdomo stood out as a journalist and writer, and although he resided for many years in Las Palmas and Belgium, his chronicles were disseminated in the Canarian newspapers and also in two newspapers that he promoted and directed: “Pronósticos” and “Volcán”, platforms where he tried to promote knowledge and creativity.
His writings distill social and human teachings, and served to witness aspects of Lanzarote's inner history. He published six books: “Diez Cuentos” (1953), “El Puerto de la Luz” (1955), “Nosotros los emigrantes” (1970), “Lanzarote y yo” (1974), “Desde mi cráter” (1976), “Crónicas Isleñas” (1978).
