The municipality of Tías finished this weekend the festivities in honor of La Candelaria and San Blas with the presentation in the municipal pavilion of the 'Carnival 2024', dedicated this year to cartoons. The gala featured performances by the batucada 'Chimbay' and the troupes 'Sur Caliente' and 'Guaracheros', as well as other groups that recreated Barbie, the Pink Panther and the world of the jungle, without forgetting the traditional 'Charlot'.
The Councilor for Festivities, Miriam Hernández, points out that the celebration of the 'Carnival of Puerto del Carmen' will take place on February 16, 17 and 18. "We will relive the magic of Carnival from Friday the 16th, at 8:00 p.m., in the Plaza del Varadero, with another inaugural gala that will also feature performances by the aforementioned groups. That same night there will be a festival enlivened by DJ Ángel Pérez and the group 'Bomba'."
The great carnival parade will take place on Saturday, February 17, starting at 5:00 p.m. along the Avenida de las Playas of Puerto del Carmen with the presence of numerous floats, masquerades and Carnival groups. In addition, on February 9, the deadline to request participation in the parade with a float from the town hall will end.
The Saturday night festival, enlivened by 'Malibú Band', the group 'Bomba' and DJ Ángel Pérez in the Plaza del Varadero, will give way to Sunday with the celebration at 11:00 a.m. of the great children's parade from the end of Teide Street towards the Varadero, inflatables and daytime carnival with performances by the orchestra 'Malibú Band', 'Morocho' and Pepe Benavente.
