The El Pavón Musical Group of Tías celebrated its XXVII Festival last Saturday night at the Ulpiano Rodríguez Pérez wrestling arena, with a full house, a participatory and dedicated audience supporting the group's 30 members throughout the event.

El Pavón once again surprised with an impeccable and constantly moving staging where musicians, soloists and choirs, led by Professor Mel Reyes, gave their all, setting the bar very high. This edition, the group selected a very novel repertoire where songs with Canarian roots such as folía, isa or malagueña were present, which were mixed with songs from the other side of the Atlantic with their Latin American rhythms. In addition, the issue of immigration was also very present, which is very close to us in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands with the arrival of men, women and children who are looking for a better future and who sometimes do not achieve their dream, losing their lives during the journey.

The management of the El Pavón Musical Group works hard and well each year to offer its audience the best, counting on professional musicians and outstanding soloists in the panorama of traditional and popular music of the islands. This edition featured José Antonio Ramos and Víctor Batista, well-known musicians with a great background due to their involvement in folklore groups and as soloists. Another of the guests was Güicho Estévez, the man in charge of putting the spark of humor mixed with music, getting the audience on their feet and singing together a song dedicated to the El Pavón Musical Group. In such an important event, the instrumental part has professional friends such as the guitarist David León, Cielo Guzmán with the transverse flute, Orlando Morales with the trumpet and Javier Luzardo with the Saxophone.

The wrestling arena covered with a tatami became a dance floor where four couples led by Víctor Brito were in charge of staging the traditional Canarian dances, leaving the space free to be occupied by a couple from Argentina, surprising the audience with each of their choreographies.

Once again, the El Pavón Musical Group, with a lot of work and good work, achieved the set objective, receiving as a reward the warm applause of the public during the festival.
