On the night of last Saturday, June 24, the neighbor of the town of Mácher, Genaro Bonilla, once the proclamation reading was finished, was surprised with a recognition for his dedication and participation for many years in the different cultural and festive events programmed during this 2023.
The neighbor Juan Parrilla went on stage before the attentive gaze of the public and Genaro himself, unaware of everything that was coming his way, thus began his intervention: "In principle, my words will sound like a kind of obituary", but nothing could be further from the truth, it is clear that Genaro Bonilla enjoys iron health.
This type of event is usually done to recognize the work of the person who is no longer with us... but, fortunately, this is not the case. "Today we want to take a moment to express to you, Genaro, how much we value everything you have done and continue to do for our beloved town of Mácher." "You are a tireless and tenacious person, your selfless dedication and concern in the festivities and everything related to the needs and cultural life of the town is true, which does not go unnoticed by anyone."
"Thanks to you, each celebration becomes an unforgettable party, and each cultural activity is an opportunity to learn something new and enjoy it to the fullest." "We know that it is not always easy to keep everything organized and that there is a lot of work behind each event." Therefore, "we want to especially thank you for your effort and commitment in making Mácher a more pleasant, welcoming, united and more alive place."
"In summary, Genaro, you are a very loved person in the town and we want to give you this well-deserved recognition." "Because we hope to continue counting on you for many more years, so that you continue to contribute with your invaluable and altruistic work so that our town achieves the levels of well-being and harmony that all its inhabitants deserve." "We want you to know that the time you dedicate selflessly to the community, often subtracting it from your daily tasks, is well known. Therefore, on behalf of all the residents of Mácher, we want to give you a small gift as a sign of our recognition and gratitude."
"This gift is not just an object, but a reminder of this act and how much we value your work." "We hope you enjoy it and that you always keep it in mind as a symbol of the affection and respect we have for you." "Congratulations Genaro, and thank you for helping to make Mácher a more dynamic and pleasant place."
Next, he was given a large painting that collected several moments lived by Genaro in the different events where he has participated, along with a poem gift from the neighbor Sergio Saavedra to which voice was also given during the recognition.
Genaro, very excited and barely able to articulate a word, addressed the public who did not stop applauding to say: "Thank you."
