The Cueva de los Verdes Auditorium will host the premiere of Lady Lady Lady, a monologue starring Lola Rodríguez, directed by Pedro Ayose, and written by Sara García Pereda, which combines words, audiovisual language, and the poetics of the body. It will be next Friday, November 28, at 8:00 p.m.

The starting point of Lady Lady Lady is a childhood marked by a silenced secret and a protagonist who faces the world armed with carnival-esque fantasy. The work is an emotional journey through fears, self-demands, fragility, the desire for belonging, and loneliness. An intimate portrait of Canarian adolescence, of stories barely told on stage, and of the dilemma between leaving the island or staying to resist. The staging defends the value of representing real island lives on stage, with their folklore, their language, and their emotional landscape.

The actress from Gran Canaria, Lola Rodríguez, is the star of the show. We have seen her in the series Veneno (in the role of Valeria Vegas), Vestidas de azul, and Bienvenidos al Edén (Netflix), as well as in films such as Poliamor para principiantes and Mi querida señorita.

The work is directed by Pedro Ayose, from Lanzarote, with an extensive career as a creator on his shoulders that includes titles such as ¿Qué sabes tú de mis tristezas?, Manning, or Píldoras Rosadas, in addition to collaborations in productions such as La infamia (with Marta Nieto and Marina Salas) and El fin (with Toni Acosta). In 2019 he co-directed César: batalla y fuego, a theatrical tribute to the centenary of César Manrique, and has explored documentary filmmaking with projects such as Confecciones Saavedra and Las Revoltosas.

The text is the work of playwright Sara García Pereda, author of pieces such as Aire siempre de viaje, Esto no es la tragedia de Mariam, and GRRRL, whose stage voice is characterized by a critical, feminist, and contemporary perspective, which connects with complex realities through a direct, poetic, and committed language.
