Last August, 16-year-old piano student Yeray Medeiros from the Lanzarote Conservatory of Music and his teacher, Maribel Diport, traveled to El Salvador following an invitation that arose within the framework of the country's Third Pianist Encounter, as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Radio Clásica.

Last year, it was a Salvadoran student who traveled to Lanzarote to continue this cultural exchange. "In El Salvador, there are children with incredible talent who played on an electric piano because there are few grand pianos in the country," Diport says. The trip was made possible thanks to the Ministry of Culture of El Salvador as cultural guests, and the support of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, which demonstrated "its commitment to artistic and educational exchange".

The objective of this project has been cultural reciprocity. As a gesture of continuity, they received the invitation to El Salvador in 2025.

During the stay in El Salvador, various activities were carried out, such as concerts, masterclasses in piano technique, study, and interpretation, aimed at Salvadoran students and teachers, a workshop on body techniques for musicians, and cultural encounters with local musicians and institutions.

Professor Maribel Diport highlighted that, despite the preparation being an "authentic endurance race" due to the management and search for aid, the experience in El Salvador was "rewarding, marked by the **warmth of the people, the dedication of the students, and their gratitude**".Student Yeray Medeiros, who was chosen as the best at CIEM to travel to the Central American country, has described the trip as "one of the most transformative experiences on a personal and musical level," as it allowed him to "step out of his comfort zone and see how, despite different cultures, music unites us".

The experience reinforced the bonds between musical communities and confirmed that music is a universal bridge that unites peoples and generations, highlighting the value of cultural cooperation
