The writers Juan Gómez-Jurado, Eloy Moreno and Elena Martín, and the composer and singer Santiago Auserón will head the poster of the II Fiera del Libro de Lanzarote that will take place between May 2 and 5 in the Villa de Teguise. The Spínola Palace-Timple Museum, one of the spaces that will host the talks with authors, has been the scene today of the presentation of the first details of the program and the announcing poster, signed by Sergio Erro.
During the meeting with the media, the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, has shown her satisfaction for the election of the city as the location of the cultural event, "in a year in which, thanks to the proposal of the Isla Literaria association to the autonomous government, a son of this town, José Betancort, better known as Ángel Guerra, has been recognized on the Day of the Canarian Letters".
Precisely, some of the activities of the Fair will revolve around his figure, with book presentations, talks, and the act of official designation of the House of Culture of Teguise as Ángel Guerra House of Culture.
The first mayor has congratulated the departments of Culture and Libraries and all the entities and groups of the municipality dedicated to the promotion and cultural creation "for whom this Fair, which is celebrated on the 150th anniversary of the birth of the writer from Teguise, is a reward".
The head of the Publications Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, María José Alonso, representing the first Corporation, highlighted "the importance of meetings like this, of support for editorial activity and the book as a tool for transmitting knowledge and a fundamental pillar of the leisure industry".
For his part, the president of the Isla Literaria association, organizer of the Fiera del Libro de Lanzarote, Tomás Pérez-Esaú, has advanced that in this second edition there will be again spaces for children and young people, that activities will be carried out in the Timple Museum, the House of Culture and the municipal Library, and that the tents will be installed in the squares of Los Leones and 18 de Julio.
On the other hand, from today, February 23 to March 10, the call is open for people who wish to present books, through the form content on the web.
