The Jameos del Agua Auditorium hosted the performance of actor John Malkovich last Monday night, who put all his charisma and passion at the service of Jack Unterweger, the protagonist of 'The Infernal Comedy', the musical production that tells the true story of a serial killer supported by a score with pieces by Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Boccherini, Weber and Glück. Malkovich worked magic on the stage of the volcanic tube transformed by César Manrique to make the audience that occupied the entire capacity vibrate.
Oswaldo Betancort, has thanked "the humanity and closeness of an actor who wanted to share with us all his talent, his imagination and his creativity." "Events like this mark the beginning of the path we want to take to recover our space in the first-level circuits and return to place the focus of quality culture on the stages of Lanzarote, without neglecting the promotion of our identity culture," he said.
For his part, the councilor of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Ángel Vázquez, highlighted "the perfect symbiosis" created between Malkovich and Jameos del Agua. "This is a unique site created for extraordinary events", he explained.
Jesús Machín, Minister of Culture of the first island institution, agreed to value "the high level of an event and an artist that define the guidelines of our commitment to quality, attractive, modern programming aimed at all types of audiences in the cultural spaces of the island."
'The Infernal Comedy' is part of the itinerant program of the II edition of 'Veranos del Taoro', a festival that is based in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, which has been possible to enjoy in Lanzarote thanks to the collaboration of the Culture Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers.
