The Playa Blanca Carnival offered a spectacular epilogue this Sunday with the celebration of the Drag Queen Gala, in the Plaza del Carmen, before an audience totally devoted to the scenic force of the ten drag queens invited by the Yaiza City Council, among them, Drag Armek, winner of the Drag Gala of the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2025.
Armek, Sethlas, Gio, La Tacones, Oberón, Avalon, Lemenos, Shirah, Egas and Acrux offered their transgressive creative expression generous in interpretation, dance, acrobatics and costume design, thus giving the reason to residents of Playa Blanca why it is one of the great attractions of the Carnival.
A night of ingenuity and vindication in favor of diversity, which also had a remarkable touch of humor in the figure of the transformist artist Vanessa Artiles, who was quick to win over the public with her jokes and occurrences.
Before the Drag Gala, Playa Blanca enjoyed its Day Carnival still with the hangover from Saturday's parade. "The festivities stood out for the joy and high participation. The organization is a sum of art, wills and commitment, so from the Yaiza City Council we publicly thank all the people who participated in the events, the municipal staff and the security and emergency forces," declares the Councilor for Festivities of Yaiza, Daniel Medina.
There are only a few days left to catch your breath because the Las Breñas Carnival is already here. On Friday, April 4, will be the Revestido Carnival in the cultural center of the town, where everyone is invited to pull sheets and disused clothes to remember nights of tradition. On Saturday, April 5, it's time to dance from 5:00 p.m. in the open air in La Gofiadera.
