The Cabildo of Lanzarote and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria signed this Wednesday morning the renewal of the 'Adscription Agreement' for the delivery of the Tourism Degree on the Island. The agreement, signed at the Island Corporation, regulates the recognition of the 'University School of Tourism' by the educational institution, and includes the promotion of official degrees and permanent training.
Oswaldo Betancort celebrates that for at least 4 more years, with the possibility of extension, the Cabildo and the ULPGC can "continue offering" all the studies leading to obtaining the university degree in Tourism. In this sense, both organizations commit to ensuring the "promotion and improvement of the quality" of the degree in this area.
For his part, the rector of the ULPGC, Lluis Serra, recalled that up to "100 places" are offered, a number according to the capacity of the educational center where the university degree will be taught, and announced that the possibility of "opening more special training programs" such as Peritia et Doctrina, Diploma of Canarian Studies or European Studies, aimed at the population over 55 years of age, which would mean a total of 200 places among all the offers, is also being explored.
Training of university experts
The Attachment Agreement also contemplates the development of the training 'University Expert in Intelligent and Innovative Business Management', which will last from this Wednesday, October 18 to April 2024.
"Likewise, this study program is positioned as a unique offer in Lanzarote by emphasizing the importance of digital transformation, project management and innovation in business administration," said Eva Crespo, director of the University School of Tourism of Lanzarote, who points out that the sealed agreement contemplates possible "new degrees" that can be offered.
