The eight countries from which the most internet searches are made to purchase flights to Lanzarote are the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Ireland, Switzerland, and Portugal.
Together they accounted for almost 2.5 million searches to fly to the rabbit island last September, according to a report by Datastur, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism.
34% of searches among the aforementioned eight countries were made from the United Kingdom. A total of 836,670, which represents an increase of 15.4% compared to the previous year.
Searches made from Spain accounted for 33%, although inter-island flights are also included here. This was a total of 815,174 searches, 6.7% less than in 2024.
From Italy, 9% of searches were made. There were a total of 217,143, which is 14.3% more than for September of last year.
Next are Germany and France, each with approximately 7% of the total. Specifically, 180,290 German searches and 164,303 French searches. Searches are falling in both countries: down 9.6% from Germany and 2.4% from France.
Searches from Ireland account for 6% and amount to 156,793, a 0.5% increase from last year.
The last two countries on the list, Switzerland and Portugal, from which around 2% of searches originate from each, are the ones growing the most. Searches **from Switzerland increased by 18.5%** to a total of 52,370 and **from Portugal by 20.8%** to 42,652.
