On Tuesday, May 27th, the institutional presentation of the campaign carried out by the main markets of the capital to publicize different products of the Canarian gastronomy will take place in the municipal market of Madrid of Santa María de la Cabeza.
The action designed by Proexca and GMR, in collaboration with Binter, is part of the sectoral plan with the local agri-food companies, with the aim of expanding their points of sale and visibility in foreign markets, such as the peninsular market.
The campaign takes place during one week and begins at the Mercado de La Paz, followed by Santa María de la Cabeza, Mercado de Barceló, Mercado de Chamberí and Mercado de Las Águilas.
In total, 16 companies participate; 5 wine companies, 5 sauce companies and 6 cheese companies. Bodegas El Grifo, Bodegas El Lomo, Bodegas Insulares Tenerife S.A., Bodegas Platé, Pida Linaje del Pago, Bernardo’s Gourmet Products, Innova Food Abona, Casa Egigenia, Argodey, Productos Virginia, La Reina, Quesería Capararius, Grupo Ganaderos de Fuerteventura, Quesos Bolaños, Quesos Valsequillo, Argodey and Herreño.
The presentation will be attended by the CEO of Proexca, Pablo Martín Carbajal; the commercial director of GMR, Aitor Marcos Sánchez; and the head of Inflight Experience of Binter, Patricia Hernández.
The action takes place during the month of the Canary Islands. The idea of celebrating the Month of the Canary Islands, instead of just one day, arises to highlight the cultural, patrimonial and social diversity over several weeks. It is an opportunity for knowledge and appreciation of the culture of the islands to reach every corner of the archipelago and even cross borders.
This is the second consecutive year in which Canary Islands Day is celebrated throughout the month. On this occasion, the program includes more than 70 activities on all the islands, under the slogan ‘Pride in who we are’. The program for the Month of the Canary Islands can be consulted on the web portal of the Government of the Canary Islands, in addition to each day on the social networks of the Presidency of the Government and the areas that organize each activity.
