The Regulatory Council of the DOP Wines of Lanzarote has celebrated a new success for the island's wines after participating in the prestigious Bacchus 2025 International Competition, held recently in Madrid.
In this edition, Bodegas Timanfaya has achieved a gold medal for its exceptional Moscatel Dulce Selección de la Familia since 1999: a unique blend that originates in the emblematic 1999 vintage as a mother wine, perfected with a careful selection of the most exceptional vintages of the winery, thus adding a new recognition to the list of Lanzarote wines.
The Bacchus 2025 International Competition, organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters and considered the largest wine competition in Spain, has brought together this year a hundred expert tasters, sommeliers, communicators and importers from around the world. With 1,698 participating samples from numerous countries, the competition has been extraordinarily demanding, highlighting the international quality of the wines evaluated in rigorous blind tastings.
"This award is a testament to the extraordinary work carried out by our wineries and the uniqueness that characterizes the wines of Lanzarote. The international recognition reinforces our commitment to the quality and authenticity of our products," said Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Regulatory Council of the DOP Wines of Lanzarote.
The success of Bodegas Timanfaya in Bacchus 2025 reinforces the growing international reputation of Lanzarote wines, characterized by their unique personality derived from the island's unique volcanic landscape and traditional farming techniques adapted to extreme conditions.
The Moscatel Dulce Selección thus manages to be among the 570 labels awarded in this edition, demonstrating the ability of the island's wines to compete at the highest international level.
