The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Employment, held this Friday a training day, especially aimed at young beneficiaries of the 'New Employment Opportunities' (NOEs) program, which has been designed to "promote self-employment". In this initiative, the island institution has had the collaboration of the Lanzarote Business Confederation (CEL).
The training has focused on explaining the objectives of the 'New Employment Opportunities' (NOE) project, which aims to "improve the employability" of the island's population through the realization of "professional internships within the Cabildo of Lanzarote", during which functions related to their qualification are performed. In this way, it is possible to "reduce the unemployment rate."
The Minister of Employment, Ascensión Toledo, has pointed out that "from the Cabildo, we want to offer a program that serves as mentoring and tutoring for the participants and that helps to understand the functioning of the Administration."
The island's representative has stressed that people who wish to benefit from this project must "be registered as job seekers" in the Canarian Employment Service. And once the call is published, "those who are looking for their first job will have preference, in addition to having a university degree or higher or intermediate vocational training", without "more than three years having elapsed since obtaining the degree".
For his part, the technician of the Lanzarote Business Confederation, Vicente Stinga, has focused his intervention on explaining the "administrative procedure that must be carried out by a person who wishes to become self-employed for the first time." At this point he explained "the operation by tranches and contribution levels".
In addition, he has detailed the "basic aspects" that must be taken into account when "creating a company and what procedures must be carried out", among other aspects.
