The works of the new hotel that is being built in Costa Teguise on the border with Los Ancones has been paralyzed for more than a month and a half due to a judicial complaint.

According to La Voz, the complaining company, Millenium, defended by the lawyer Ignacio Calatayud, claims that it has certain rights over the land where the new hotel establishment is being built

Francisco Martínez, advisor of the hotel Group Gloria Thalasso & Hotels, in conversation with La Voz, was surprised because the land comes from a Treasury embargo, which auctioned it. “We went to the auction, paid and registered the property in our name. That is, we bought it from the Treasury directly.”

Last Tuesday, November 12, a hearing was held in the Arrecife courts to resolve the matter. The verdict is expected in approximately two weeks.

In principle, the Gloria Group planned to have the new hotel, which will need a staff of about 250 workers, completed in 2026.

The project, with an investment of 100 million euros and a plot of 80,000 meters, is linked to health and sports tourism. In fact, it includes the construction of 6 swimming pools, several waterfalls and a large spa.
