The United Kingdom premieres this Monday the so-called 'Freedom Day'. And, the country has lifted this July 19 the restrictions by Covid, eliminating the mandatory use of masks and social distancing and quarantine for vaccinated travelers returning from amber destinations.
All of Spain remains in amber in the English traffic light, including the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. Thus, as reported by Hosteltur, British people who have received the second dose of the vaccine 14 days before starting the trip can fly to our country without having to quarantine on their return. Of course, they will have to undergo a PCR before leaving the destination and another on the second day of their arrival in the United Kingdom, which will make the trip more expensive.
In addition, since July 2, Spain also requires travelers over 12 years of age from the United Kingdom to present a negative PCR test or proof of having been doubly vaccinated upon arrival.
The United Kingdom has lifted restrictions when its epidemiological conditions are not optimal at all. And, as Hosteltur points out, the accumulated incidence at 14 days in the British country is 680.86 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a rate higher than that of Spain, which is 538.19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
